A Christmas Wish
I wish there were ten or a dozen Christmas Days in the year — for there is work enough in the world and a little more rest would not hurt laboring people. Christmas Day is really a gift to us.
The Importance of Your Choice of Your Life’s Partner
20 years ago today, the greatest thing that ever happened to me next to my salvation was the day my fiancee became my wife. Happy anniversary, Babe!
When men and women are about to be married how much of life then trembles in the balances! Upon the choice of a partner in life the fashion of that life may depend. Whether self or Christ, the world or God, shall be the master-motive of the household, may be decided by the finger which wears the plain gold ring.
The Limitless Expanse of Grace
As a bird cannot exhaust the air in the sky nor a fish exhaust the water in the sea, neither can we exhaust the grace of God.

Pastor, You’re Not Alone!
Pastor, don’t let the Monday preacher’s hangover get you down!
There is no good preacher who is not moved almost to the point of tears at the end of every sermon at how poor was the message he just delivered

Going Forth, Weeping
Winners of souls must first be weepers for souls.

If the Lord Should Tarry Another 6,000 Years
Let not the missionary be afraid, even if for thousands of years to come there should be little apparent success to the preaching of the Gospel. If the Lord should tarry another 6,000 years, yes, six thousand years — and He may — we are still to go on working, still to go on laboring, looking for His coming and expecting it, but not relaxing our efforts because He pleases to delay it, for the Lord has sworn that all flesh shall know His Glory and you may depend upon it — there is no spot of earth that shall be left to be Satan’s dominion!

That Is What You Are
Be content to be nothing, for that is what you are. When your emptiness is painfully forced upon your consciousness, chide yourself that you ever dreamed of being full, except in the Lord.
A Great God for a Great Need
I have a great need for Christ, but I have a great Christ for my need.
