A Claim Unique to Christianity
Of all … religions, Christianity alone bases its claim to acceptance on the resurrection of its Founder.

There Are No Shortcuts in Ministry
It should be understood that there is no shortcut to an influential ministry for God…. There may be shortcuts to ecclesiastical eminence or administrative authority, but not to a spiritual ministry.

Training To Lead
Spiritual leadership does not always develop best in the limelight. There must be time for a future leader’s secret transactions with God and for getting to know Him more intimately than do those he is being trained to lead. Because God is seeking quality in our lives, time is no object to Him.
J. Oswald Sanders, Enjoying Intimacy with God (Chicago: Moody Press, 1980), 122.
Pastor, Do You Want Cheap or Fruitful Ministry?
All spiritual ministry flows from the reality of our knowledge of God and the vitality of our fellowship with Him and His Son. A successful, fruitful ministry does not just happen — it is purchased. And the more influential the ministry, the steeper the price. It cannot be paid with a lump sum; we pay for it in gradual increasing installments. There is no such thing as a cheap, fruitful ministry.
As Close to God As We Want To Be
We are at this moment as close to God as we really choose to be.
The True Spiritual Leader
True greatness, true leadership, is achieved not by reducing men to one’s service but in giving oneself in selfless service to them. And that is never done without cost. It involves drinking a bitter cup and experiencing a painful baptism of suffering. The true spiritual leader is concerned infinitely more with the service he can render God and his fellowmen than with the benefits and pleasures he can extract from life. He aims to put more into life than he takes out of it.
Christ Is Lord of All
There is no sphere, however secular, in which Christ has no rights — and no sphere in which His servants are absolved from obedience to Him.
B. M. Metzger in J. Oswald Sanders, The Incomparable Christ, p. 228
Delusions of Grandeur
We each have endless capacity for self-deception and are notoriously biased in our own favor. Because of that, we will never come to an experience of inner cleanness and full restoration until we come to the place of complete honesty before God.
Worship = Love
Worship flows from love. Where love is meager, worship will be scant. Where love is deep, worship will overflow.
