Happy the Home When God Is There
In honor of Mothers’ Day
Following the Master No Matter the Cost
True Christianity is not about adding Jesus to my life. Instead, it is about devoting myself completely to Him — submitting wholly to His will and seeking to please Him above all else. It demands dying to self and following the Master, no matter the cost. In other words, to be a Christian is to be Christ’s slave.

New Resource Page
I have posted a resource page. As I come across or develop resources useful for ministry, I will post them on this page.
Jesus Presents Himself before God in Your Behalf
Jesus presents Himself before God in your behalf, and God sees you only in Him. Jesus wraps around you, in exchange for the leprous garment of your sins, the white robe of His divine, unsullied righteousness, which presents you to God without spot or wrinkle; and God, thus beholding you only in the Son of His love, sees in you no perverseness, and traces in you no sin…. Oh what a mercy that, when we go to God in prayer, in confession, in supplication, these poor trembling, unclean hands can repose upon the Head of a sinless Victim, and lift up a holy sacrifice, and present a sin-offering in which the holy, searching eye of God can see no sin.
A Heart That Is Alive with Conscious Devotion
Religious practice that is pleasing and acceptable to God must not only conform to God’s revelation, but must also flow from a heart that is alive with conscious devotion to the Lord. The object, mechanics, and motive of worship all matter.
Michael Barrett, The Beauty of Holiness, p. 36
The Priesthood of the Believer
Everything the believer does — if only he does it as in God’s presence and as a service to God — it is a priestly service, well-pleasing to God. ‘Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God’ (1 Corinthians 10.31). ‘Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.’ (Colossians 3.17). In this way, all our actions become thank-offerings to God.
Making the Scriptures Come Alive in Your Preaching
True preaching is never stale or dull or academic, but fresh and pungent with the living authority of God. But the Scripture comes alive to the congregation only if it has come alive to the preacher first. Only if God has spoken to him through the Word which he preaches will they hear the voice of God through his lips.
To the Praise of His Glorious Grace
Grace Is the Sweetest Sound
This is a hymn we sing regularly at Grace Bible Chapel.
