We Need Other Christians

Scripture teaches that we [Christians] need each other and should not withdraw from each other’s fellowship, instruction, or accountability. It’s unbiblical to imagine that we can successfully seek God on our own (Hebrews 10.25). Because we will be part of a community of saints that constitutes the bride of Christ for eternity, and because we will worship and serve Him together, to prepare properly for Heaven we must be part of a church now.

Prayer Is Listening to God

Prayer is listening for God, hearing what God has to say, consenting to what God does say, asking of God power to obey. To neglect these things is to be powerless. . . . God, through the self-emptied, always pours out His fulness for the blessing of others; and prayer is the exercise finally of self-emptying that prepares the soul, that makes us channels through which the power of God may proceed to the accomplishment of His purposes in the world.
